If you’re like me, you probably have your eyes peeled for cool places to take photos at all the time. No matter if you’re a Minnesota native or someone who may be visiting the great state of Minnesota for a few days, here are the most Instagrammable locations to take some selfies, take photos of you and your significant other, or just of the beautiful scenery in Minneapolis.
Stone Arch Bridge:
The Stone Arch Bridge is such an iconic place. If you love industrial photos with a brick background, this is the spot for you! There are a ton of different textures and a beautiful view of the Minneapolis skyline! This famous bridge is also known as the walking bridge because it’s only accessible by foot or bike. It connects downtown and Northeast Minneapolis over the Mississippi River with a view of St. Anthony Falls. If you’re adventurous enough, there are some footpaths just before you reach the bridge entrance, where you can hike down to the river and see a side view of the bridge.

Minnehaha Falls:
This waterfall is impressive all year round. The waterfall constantly flows in the summer and is frozen in the winter. You can get great photos from the bridge at the top of the falls or below near the bottom. This is a very popular place to hike, so if you want photos with no one around, I would suggest going early in the morning or evening when the crowd has slowed down.
4801 S Minnehaha Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417
The Amber Box:
This unique location is found in the Guthrie Theater, Minneapolis’s main performing arts theater. The Amber Box is located on the 9th floor and overlooks the Mississippi River. The room is floor-to-ceiling amber-colored glass, which makes for some creative and unique photos.
While you’re there, you can also check out the Endless Bridge, which extends over the West River Parkway. It really makes you feel like you’re walking over the Mighty Mississippi River! The Guthrie is open every weekday from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, and I would double-check to see if their hours are different when they have performances.

I Like You Wall:
These adorable murals are found outside of the two I Like You stores. The I Like You Store is where local artists sell their creations in Northeast Minneapolis and St. Paul (#shopsmall). If you’re looking for a super cute and unique Facebook or Instagram profile picture, these are definitely the places for you! Don’t forget to drop in and shop while you’re there!

Star Wall at First Ave:
This historical and deeply loved venue is a music-lovers dream. First Ave is the longest-running independently owned and operated club in the country. Along the outside walls are stars featuring First Ave favorites of the past, present, and soon-to-be future. You can snap a shot of yourself with your favorite artists like the Foo Fighters, Coldplay, the Goo Goo Dolls, and even Prince.
First Ave even has a star dedicated to George Floyd, which I think is very special! So if you’re looking for a cool and musically influenced backdrop, this location is the one for you!
701 N 1st Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55403
Purple Raindrop (Fairview Park):
The Purple Raindrop in Fairview Park plays tribute to, you guessed it, Prince’s iconic song, “Purple Rain.” Esther Osayande created this beautiful sculpture. This sculpture would be such a fun and unique backdrop for a senior who loves music. The park is also very beautiful and very serene, a perfect place for a picnic.
