Fall in Minnesota is so beautiful; it’s no wonder it’s the busiest time of year for fall family photos. The Wamsher Family contacted me in early August to schedule their family photos for late September. In 2021, I had the pleasure of photographing the Wamshers as they welcomed their new little one, Hazel, into their family. It’s always a joy to work with families repeatedly; it almost makes me feel like I’m part of the family.
The Wamshers wanted a quiet location with lots of trees and plenty of space to explore for their fall family photos. I knew the perfect spot for their family photos: a hidden gem with so much to offer for fall family photos in Savage, Minnesota. The park’s serene atmosphere, combined with its stunning natural beauty, provides the ideal backdrop for capturing those cherished moments.
2023 was an exceptionally dry summer, so the fall foliage didn’t show up until mid-October. Luckily, we were still able to capture some fall color in the Wamshers’ family photos. The golden hues of the leaves added a magical touch to the pictures. Not to mention, their outfits were perfect for the in-between season of summer and fall, blending seamlessly with the autumnal scenery.
This fall family photo session was a lot of fun, and the girls looked absolutely adorable in their matching outfits. We walked around, explored the field, and checked out the river to see if we could find some fish. The kids were so excited and curious, making the session lively and enjoyable. Needless to say, they didn’t want to leave when we were done.
From the picturesque location to the vibrant fall colors, everything came together beautifully. Capturing these fall family photos with the Wamshers was a true delight, and I can’t wait to see them again next year! These moments are precious, and I feel honored to help preserve them through my lens.
