Maternity photography has become very popular for couples who are expecting. If you’re on the fence, I will give you a list of reasons WHY maternity photos are fabulous and totally necessary!
Why Maternity Photography?
Pregnancy is the perfect time to reminisce about how you and your partner came together – remembering what led you two to this part of your journey to becoming a family. It’s important to honor and document how you got to this point, whether this is your third, eighth, or tenth child.
Maternity photos can be styled. You can buy a maternity dress for your maternity pictures and even matching dresses for your little one! I prefer to shoot maternity photos on location, and I love taking maternity pictures with beautiful landscape backgrounds. Maternity pictures can also be done in the comfort of your own home or at one of the many studios located in Minneapolis.
When Should I Schedule My Maternity Photos?
The best time to take maternity photos is when you’re 28 – 36 weeks pregnant (7 – 8 months). The belly has a nice round shape during this time frame, and you’re still comfortable enough for a photo shoot, which is very important! I want nothing more than for you to feel comfortable during your maternity photos.
Pregnancy isn’t always a walk in the park. Whether you love how you look and feel or not, a professional maternity photos will make you feel beautiful. If you’re not feeling up to traveling, having an in-home maternity session will still be very special and memorable. I can capture the special and intimate moments between you and your partner before your new bundle of joy joins your lives. If you have a fur baby, they can join in on the fun too!
